Roots and Rhymes
Hosted by UK-based veteran deejay Chunz alongside his co-host and microphone controller Makh, who both witnessed and were part of the 2000’s UK Bhangra revolution first-hand, this podcast explores how urban culture and music has shaped the incredible Brit-Asian pop-culture we’re experiencing today.
Our show plays host to iconic British Asian DJs, musicians, radio personalities, fashion designers, comedians and industry professionals. With them, we’ll discover their experiences with Punjabi and other urban music, and the role that they played in their personal, artistic and professional stories of their lives. We’ll look at our shared love for music and our shared appreciation for what it means to be the people we are, from the community we all come from.
Join us on our journey through the scene as we reminisce, promote and celebrate one of the most diverse and exciting cultural movements on the planet.
