The title of our podcast is pretty straightforward. We are looking to hear God in Scripture. We believe proper hermeneutics is rare, that is, the ability to properly read the Bible is not commonly known or practiced. We believers are commanded to know and study the Scriptures. We should also study to properly understand what they say. These Scriptures are God’s words to us. God spoke to us. Now we need to read them right.
Not only did God speak, He still speaks. We shouldn’t just read the Scripture to pull it apart and examine it, we should be listening to God, listening for His voice as we read the text. Our hermeneutic is, “the Text is the Master”. We submit to the text. We do not have the right to twist it around to make it say what we want it to say. Rather, we discover what God is saying to us through His Word. Then we submit to whatever He says.
So, hear God in the Scriptures. That is what we are trying to do and we invite you to do this with us.
