Be With Me is a daily 7 minute chronological walk through the New Testament hosted by Michael Smith. It is for everyone who is curious about what Jesus actually said and did in the gospels. Most episodes will leave you with at least one good thought to chew on for the rest of the day. We start with the Bible and hopefully end with Awe. We are walking through the chronological events of Jesus' life and then thoughtfully considering them. It is meant to spur the devotional life of the Christian and the not-yet-Christian. We occasionally venture into the Old Testament when it helps our understanding of the New Testament events. Everybody has 7 minutes. Everybody needs to wonder. Be With Me is hosted by Michael Smith who has absolutely no special qualifications to do a podcast. He is not a pastor. He has not been to seminary. He does not lead a mega-church. He is not a professional and he has no more credentials than you do. He does, however, follow a great God with an observant eye and a curious heart. Each day, he starts with a study bible and aims for astonishment. ‘be with him’ for 7 minutes as he sets out daily to discover the God who invites us to ‘Be With Me.’
Abraham demonstrates a "resurrection-caliber" faith in his obedience to the Lord. He believes that the Lord is able to bring Isaac back to life from the dead.
This is important to us today, because …
What would Abraham's license plate say? I thing it would proclaim, "FIRST IN FAITH", specifically, "First in RESURRECTION Faith." We know this because the New Testament and the Old Testament tell us…
How long is God going to LAST? Does He, or does our relationship with Him come with an expiration date?
Today we hear that His Person is forever; His PROMISES are everlasting; and His NAME will neve…
God separates distinctively the family line of Isaac. It ultimately leads to Jesus. We are to be CASTING OURSELVES in trust upon it. There is no plan B. It is thru this family that all the knuckleh…
It sounds brutal, but we too are supposed to be "casting out Hagar" and the covenant that she represents. That is the "covenant" of works, of effort, of trying, rather than the covenant of TRUST. To…
Today we have a choice in our DIRECTIONAL laughing regarding Sarah. We can either laugh AT HER, or we can laugh WITH HER. We can mock in derision the concept that God could come down to her mercifu…
For some reason, God has included humans, at least partially, in His redemptive plan for mankind. It is an unruly lot, even our sometimes hero Abraham. Here Abraham again tries to take plans into …
Lot's daughters are concerned that they will be erased from history, so they take matters into their own hands and into their own pants. They scheme and sin rather than trust. Listen or watch 7 minu…
Mrs. Lot "looks back" in the wrong way and gets turned into a pillar of salt. Abraham looks back over the same real estate and nothing bad happens. What is the difference? Listen/watch 7 minutes to…
In the story of the KNUCKLEHEAD Lot, we get a glimpse of how God saves people. God finds zero righteous people in Sodom. Lot is one of the zero. Yet here begins God's ASSOCIATIVE MERCY that will e…
Abraham intercedes for the righteous people of the city of Sodom. He intercedes for the few. The problem is, there are no righteous people in Sodom. Sodom is destroyed, but no righteous people are…
Is God UNJUST? Specifically, is He unjust because He is NOT THOROUGH? Or, do we have a God who makes inquiries of perfect accuracy with full assessment?
As it turns out, God hears and sees; He goes d…
Christianity is all about "being a child of Abraham" and having his type of faith. We are also asked to be a "child of Sarah" in getting submission right. Personally, I think Sarah learned it as her…
What is the BEST question in all of the Bible? You could certainly make an argument for this one: Is anything to hard for the Lord? God asks this of Abraham and Sarah. Funny thing though, is that God…
Both Abraham and Sarah Laugh at God regarding His promises for children. In my view, it is not their finest moment of faith. They both walk-back their comments.
God doesn't let it go. He reminds the…
You mean to tell me that to find the people of the Abrahamic covenant, you had to look in their PANTS? Exactly. What was God thinking? Why this surgical and perhaps strange cutting of circumcision?
…
When the Bible talks about "How to get to heaven" it does not refer to the 10 commandments and the law of Moses. When the Bible talks about "How to have a relationship with God", it asks us to turn …
El Shaddai means power, strength, sufficient, and all-mighty. God gives this name of Himself to Abram so that Abram can better understand the characteristics of God.

Have you ever wondered where the Arabic people group comes from? Join me for 7 minutes to hear about a man the first century historian Josephus calls, "Founder of the Arabs." This is Ishmael, the son…
What if we really do have a God who SEES, and specifically, SEES ME? It changed everything for a young Hagar. Perhaps it will change everything for you too. Watch 7 minutes to see.
