Welcome to the Journal Project, covering the years 1990 to present. In this series, we’ll be diving into personal reflections, memories, and stories captured in journals and songs during my transformative years. I grew up without eletricity from the time I was 10 years old with an religious zealot for a father and a mother into herbalism. My father landed in prison during my Master's degree. My family life had been crumbling for years and now, in my adult years, I was having to rebuild.
I married the love of my life, have three beautiful children, and have endured my own challenges through faith and my worldview. My story is one of vision for myself, turning ashes into gold, and crating a meaningful life.
You’ll hear about pivotal life moments, raw emotions, and the inner dialogue that shaped my perspective at the time, plus commentary to give context and further thoughts. I'm literally reading through my journals and sharing my story with the world. This project is an invitation not only to revisit the past with me, but also to see how those early experiences ripple into the present and ultimately how to integrate, let go, and move on from hard things.
Whether you lived through this era or are simply curious, I hope these recordings offer insight, connection, and maybe even a bit of nostalgia. This show is a portrayal of my crazy, beautiful, and tragically interesting life story, as told through my journals and songs. If you're here, then I guess you like getting to know someone on a deep level. I can resonate with that.
