ZE 013: Ngay Gio: The Day of Remembrance and Commemoration

In my culture, there is a tradition of reflective appreciation for the ancestral root. Each deceased family member is honored annually on the day his/her of passing. That annual day of remembrance and commemoration is called Ngày Giỗ. Ngày Giỗ helps the each family member reflect on the continuum of life and be grateful for the gift of the present. Ngày Giỗ aids each family member’s current life path toward a more meaningful future.
