Self-soothing helps the body reset itself during and after experiencing overwhelming stress and anxiety. . All people need soothing after a shock or following trauma or upset. Common self-soothing behaviors include reaching for an alcoholic drink or a tub of ice cream.  Jackie offers some healthier ways to self soothe that will help you to find your zen and bring your body & nervous system back to homeostasis.
