This week, we’ve been looking at the “gap theory,” a way to try and put millions of years into the Bible. Well, one popular version of this idea has the world being destroyed with a “Luciferian flood.”
But such a flood actually defeats the purpose of the gap in time! You see, this gap is supposed to account for the rock layers and fossils. But a Luciferian flood would’ve destroyed all those rock layers and laid down new ones.
And you now have to say Noah’s flood was just a local flood. A global flood would’ve ripped up those layers and laid down new ones! But Genesis describes Noah’s flood as global.
There’s absolutely no gap in Genesis chapter 1.
