Dana Lopez Carlessi is a breast cancer survivor. After losing her mother to breast cancer, she was diagnosed with the disease three years later. Dana is grateful to her friend, who encouraged her to schedule her mammogram. It is this encouragement that led to her diagnosis and saved her life. Dana decided that she would survive this disease by maintaining a positive mindset and holding onto laughter and humor. Although she had a limited support system, she continued to fight until she was cancer-free. She feels her mother and a spiritual force guided her through her healing journey.
