(Intro & Piano music)What do you think when you hear the phrase 'Greek Summer'? The three S' right? Sea, Sun and Sunsets! Κώνωψ (konops) in Ancient Greek and κουνούπι (kounoupe) in modern, means 'mosquito'. The Ancient Greeks (and the Egyptians) had devised a bed that could protect you from the nasty biters. They'd hang a cloth from the ceiling to cover the entire bed and sleep inside, protected. Conopeum in Latin, Canopeum in medieval Latin , Conope in old French, and Canapy in Middle English.
