I recently read an idea in a book that really stuck with me: our brains have a 'possibility boundary,' and we don't even think of goals that are truly impossible. In this episode, I explore what that simple idea means for my own life.
I'll share two goals that are on my mind right now. One is a very big, long-term dream about going to Olympus Mons on Mars. The other is a much more immediate and difficult challenge: swimming across a strait.
This episode is about how I connect those two different goals. It's a short reflection on why that feeling of "this seems almost impossible" might actually be the sign of a perfect challenge, and how I'm trying to embrace it. It’s about taking that first step, guided by the thought: "If you're going to do it someday, do it first."
