Follow the adventures of Ess Fremont, who runs away from an oppressive boarding school when her grandparents go missing. Disguised, as a boy, she encounters Secret Service agents, Pinkertons, rebels, circus performers, and President Lincoln. She uses her wits and her grandparents' inventions while hunting for her missing brother, and hoping someday to find out the truth about her grandparents' fate.

Episode 20/Chapter 15: Ess keeps watch on Stockwell and takes advantage of a chance to visit her old boarding school to see what happened to the traitorous headmistress.
