Ep60 In Conversation with Alison Irving

Alison Irving lives in a village in Northern Ireland with her husband, 2 children and a spoiled cat called Hamish. She works as a physiotherapist in a hospice in Belfast and Casual Cruelties is her first novel.

Casual Cruelties iss published by Bloodhound Books and came out on 3rd November 2023. It is a psychological suspense novel about a middle aged woman who gradually realises that her husband is increasingly controlling but after years of his behaviour, is unsure whether she is strong enough to leave him.

Alison says "When I started writing Casual Cruelties, I had to do a lot of research into coercive control and toxic relationships and I hope that I was able to do the storyline justice."
