In Episode 7, we are chatting with Joél Leon! 

Joél is a performer, author, and storyteller, who writes and tells stories for Black people. He specializes in moderating and leading conversations surrounding race, masculinity, mental health advocacy, activism, creativity and the performing arts, with love at the center of his work and purpose. He's been featured in BBC News, Forbes, Medium, and many many more publications. Joél has spoken and performed at the Apollo Theater, Joe's Pub, Rockwood Music Hall, Columbia University, NYU and Webster Hall. He is also the author of "A Book About Things I Will Tell My Daughter" and "God Wears Durags Too.”

In this conversation we discuss life as a multi-hyphenate, the seasonality of leaning into different interests and mediums, the sense of ease that comes from embracing impermanence, how we can redefine societal norms that don’t fit us, and the healing power of forgiveness and “letting things die.”
