WoHo's!
Mac's genre pick this week was zombies and we watched two zombie comedies: ONE CUT OF THE DEAD from Japan & SHAUN OF THE DEAD from the UK.
Zombies in both films function as a wake up call to our main characters and both films are examples of labors of love. Check them out or check them out again!
We were having so much fun discussing SHAUN OF THE DEAD that we forgot to rate it, but I am going to go out on a limb here and say that Mac would give it 5/5 cricket bats. That makes two 5/5ers this show. You're welcome!
A very happy 52nd birthday to "friend of the show" Simon Pegg.
We have two minis coming up which will serve as the meat in the podcast mains sandwich. That metaphor needs work. What I mean is, before the next main, which will be out in two weeks, Mom and Mac will review David Cronenberg's sophomore effort, RABID and Mom is going solo to cover Mario Bava's SHOCK. This is Mom's pet project to fill in her own gaps in horror knowledge and to, with hope, connect to some academic types to discuss foundational horror. If you are one such type, or you would like to recommend someone, please get in touch!
On the next main, Mom is highlighting Haunted Houses and we will review BEETLEJUICE from the US and THE HOUSE AT THE END OF TIME (2013) from Venezuela.
Thanks so much for all your support, WoHos!
We love you.
DON'T go into the basement.
