It’s truly shocking to think that in 2022 Child Labour is still a major issue - that instead of being at school 160 million children are working.
This 160 million figure is an increase of 8.4 million since 2016. Half these child labourers are between the age of five and 11.
It’s the first time in 20 years that the number of child labourers has increased and the figure doesn’t take the Covid 19 pandemic into account
New reports show that by the end of this year another 9 million children could be forced into work.
In the podcast series we will talk about what needs to happen to turn the tide.
