25. The 3:1 ratio

Have you heard of a "relationship bank account?"

This is a concept described in many books and by many coaches.  The idea is that we make deposits and withdrawals from our relationship bank account by what we do and say.  Deposits are good, withdrawals can be detrimental.

In today's episode, I go into detail about this concept and also teach you about the 3:1 ratio described in the Positive Intelligence app (see below).  This ratio means that every negative interaction with a person is like making a $3 withdrawal from the relationship bank account, while every positive interaction is like depositing only $1.  So our deposits have to be 3x as frequent as our withdrawals just to break even!
