On Monday, August 1, 1955, on a lonely stretch of highway in rural Georgia, a young twenty-year-old named Joseph Whaley heard a "strange noise in the thicket near the creek" while working. At that moment, a huge, snarling, grey-haired monstrosity busted through the trees without warning and charged directly at him.
