we can carry God in the heart / hearing sacred texts as a path of yoga / it happens in a “short time” / hearing can rid the mind of lust, anger and hankering, “like autumnal rains upon pools of muddy water” / then you get hooked / God becomes pliable to the love of a devotee / esoteric bhakti involves cultivating a certain type of love, following in the footsteps of the great devotees / progressing from faith to love / casual devotion & pseudo devotion won’t cut it
