A new forecast includes improved revenue projections for the State of Illinois in the upcoming fiscal year, despite concerns about the local and national economy. The forecast comes from the Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability, the General Assembly’s independent forecasting arm. The projection is for $54.5 billion in revenue in fiscal year 2026, $266 million more than its March projection. The forecast is still about $471 million below Governor Pritzker’s projection earlier this year and does not include $492 million in new revenue expected to be raised in the governor’s budget.
