Dre Black

Dre Black is a singer, songwriter, and independent artist born in Washington, DC. A graduate of the Duke Ellington School of the Performing Arts, Dre was immersed in creativity from an early age. After completing his studies at the Fashion Institute of Technology, he initially pursued a career in fashion—but music remained a powerful force in his life.

In 2004, Dre auditioned for Season 4 of American Idol, advancing to the third round of the DC auditions. Though he didn’t make it to Hollywood, the experience fueled his drive to grow as an artist. Over the years, Dre has collaborated with a range of talent across the DMV area, carving out his own unique lane in the independent music scene.

In 2010, he launched his lifestyle blog, DreBlackSoFresh, which has since attracted over 5 million views. The platform blends his love for music, fashion, and culture—showcasing his evolution as both an artist and influencer.
