In this episode, Bronwen and Bee have a small talk with Jamie Greer about the history of Professional Wrestling in Windsor, Ontario.
Jamie has been a notorious Windsorite for quite some time and for many reasons. He’s been a bartender, played in multiple bands, covered the local music scene for print and radio, then pivoted to writing professionally about Pro Wrestling. Now, he is writing a book about wrestling in Windsor called “Killers, Butchers, Cry-Babys & Canadian Destroyers: The History of Professional Wrestling in Windsor”. We chat about his journey writing the book, work-life balance, and using research as a coping mechanism for his mental wellness. We also talk about the 2SLGBTQIA+ wrestlers of the past and present.
To learn about the book and Windsor’s Wrestling history, make sure you follow Jamie’s Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/WindsorWrestlingYQG
You can get updates from Jamie’s Twitter https://twitter.com/YQGWrestling519?s=20
We’re also excited that this episode is being released on the same day as the return of live professional wrestling to Windsor and Windsor’s first Pay-Per-View event!
