"Who put Bella in the Wych elm?" is a story from April 1943. Four young boys discovered a skull and human remains shoved inside the hollow of a wych elm tree. Investigations began to try a find the identity of the woman left in the tree. Eventually the trials began to go cold and they were left not know who she was or what happened. Until 6 months later when mysterious graffiti began to appear that read "Who put Bella in the wych elm" and named the unidentified victim for the very first time.
