As women, our bodies drastically change several times throughout the course of our lives; puberty, pregnancy, post-pregnancy, perimenopause and menopause. Many of us have a challenging relationship with our bodies and body image at the best of times. But these times in our life can make dressing our bodies especially daunting...sometimes even soul destroying. It doesn't help that each designer and brand seems to have sizing that doesn't match up ( a size 12 in one shop, could be a size 14 in another), and that the changing rooms are built like small sweaty torture chambers with lighting that would make the most beautiful woman in the world recoil. Shopping and and dressing our body shapes, is, for the most part, exhausting and erodes self confidence. For some, the solution is simple - hire a stylist and personal shopper! But of course, for the majority of us, this is a luxury we simply cannot afford.
Joining host Jennie on todays episode is Anna Berkeley. She has worked in the fashion industry for 30 years. She was a buyer for Prada, Margaret Howell and Selfridges. For the last 17 years she has worked as a private stylist and body shape expert. Utilizing her in depth experience and understanding of the changing female body, Anna has identified and created the solution for women who struggle with understanding their body shape and how to dress it. She has created the ThinkShape App. It uses body mapping techniques and analysis to help users understand their bodies and what looks good on them without the expense of a personal stylist and appointment. Anna says her mission is to take the anxiety out of choosing clothes by teaching women everything she has learned over many years of styling. Her dream is for women to accept, embrace and honour their beautiful bodies whilst truly understanding what works best for them.
