While the number of wineries and tasting rooms on estate vineyards is steadily growing in Paso ,  the number of urban wineries is on the rise faster than ever. In this episode of Where Wine Takes You, host Adam Montiel shares with you the insanely popular urban scene within Tin City, as well as Paso Robles' Downtown District which is also bursting at the seems with new tasting opportunities.



Giornata Wines is one of the O.G. players in Tin City. Their wine style is just as artsy and connected as their neighborhood suggests, with unique takes on Italian varieties that grow incredibly well in Paso. Ask them about their wines with skin contact. While Tin City is on the outskirts of town ,  the Downtown District is the hub of the city, and downtown Paso has also seen huge strides in exciting things coming in, and elevates its game at every turn. Even with a global pandemic going on, their are marketplaces, piano bars, tasting rooms, and craft bars, and new restaurants arriving with a lot of excitement. One of the first wineries to make a splash downtown Paso is Bodegas Paso Robles. When winemaker Dorothy Shuler said she was going to open a tasting room downtown, she was told she was crazy. And she might be, but you'll learn in this chat, it's all for the right reasons. We meet up with her at their 13th St tasting room downtown, talk about the Spanish and Portuguese varieties they specialize in, and why the urban tasting scene downtown Paso is really a special area to watch right now.
