Dr. Raquel Martin is lighthouse -- and I am grateful for her insight and presence. In the 2-3 years I have been in her orbit, she has been a reminder to be aware of my Blackness (and treasure it!), and to remember that my Blackness isn't based in trauma.

What Dr. Raquel Martin puts forward in this Facebook video is needed and necessary! We cannot ignore the cries of our children--and they have been crying for a while now. And if we are honest, some of us have ignored them because we didn't know what to do.
