Kicking off your weekend in Dallas-Fort Worth, tonight Arlington is the place to be. Carter BloodCare and the Dallas Cowboys are hosting their annual blood drive at AT&T Stadium until 5 p.m., and right afterwards, Downtown Arlington lights up for one of the region’s biggest Independence Day celebrations. Light Up Arlington starts at 6 p.m. with live music, food trucks, family fun, and a fireworks show that always steals the night. For sports fans, the WNBA’s Dallas Wings take on the Phoenix Mercury at College Park Center at 7 p.m., and North Texas Soccer Club faces off against MNUFC2 at Choctaw Stadium Friday evening.

Tomorrow, July 4th, the party keeps rolling! Arlington throws its 60th annual Independence Day Parade beginning at 9 a.m. winding through the UT Arlington campus and downtown, with the Firecracker 5K kicking off beforehand for early risers. In Fort Worth, all eyes turn to Panther Island Pavilion for Fort Worth’s Fourth, a huge riverside party running from 5 to 10 p.m. offering live music, food trucks, fun for the kids, and a fireworks finale over the Trinity River according to Fort Worth’s city websites.

Looking for even more fireworks? Grapevine’s July 4th Fireworks Extravaganza launches from Oak Grove Soccer Complex at 9:30 p.m.—just tune in to their online soundtrack for the full effect. In Frisco, the Freedom Fest takes over Simpson Plaza with a car show, roller skating, carnival games, live music, and fireworks starting at 6. Trophy Club throws its Parade of Patriots and family festival starting at 6 with a splash pad and live music until the fireworks close the night at Independence Park, according to Community Impact and local city event calendars.

If you want to keep the celebration going into the weekend, Waxahachie hosts its Crape Myrtle Festival July 3 and 4 with a classic parade and fireworks show, while The Colony’s Liberty by the Lake festival delivers a full day of family fun, races, a parade, and fireworks on July 4.

For concertgoers, Dallas-Fort Worth is loaded. Willie Nelson and The Mavericks headline the Outlaw Music Festival at Dos Equis Pavilion, while local favorites like Paul Cauthen at The Kessler and Kin Faux at Billy Bob’s Texas fill venues across the metroplex according to Songkick's concert listings. From Broadway’s The Lion King to sunset scooter tours in Downtown Dallas, there’s something for every interest, and both Fort Worth and Dallas event calendars offer even more options to browse.

Before we go, don’t forget: Texas Live! in Arlington is hosting a free Love Island Watch Party Marathon July 6th through 11th—a perfect way to wind down after all the fireworks with drama on a 100-foot screen, custom cocktails, and villa vibes.
