In a week where:
In Life: (10:11) The Amazon Rainforest is under attack by the government that is obligated to protect. But along with hateful rhetoric, Jair Bolsonaro & his government plan to plant a highway & a hydroelectric plant where the Rainforest should be.
In Sports: (20:56) Serena Williams beat Maria Sharapova for the 19th straight time in the 1st round of this year's US Open, but all I heard before the match was the word "Rivalry". In what universe is this a rivalry in any definition of the word?
In Film/TV: (28:45) Comfort TV is all the rage now. Watching the show you know like the back of your hand over and over again. Why is this? Do we all do it in some way?
And in Music: (41:03) Notting Hill Carnival has been & gone. From my vantage point, it looked like another successful year of good vibes, good music and good food. But I thought I'd broaden the scope and appreciate the largest street festival in Europe for what it truly is. Being a symbol of culture in the face of hate.
