#312: Growing up in ‘the spa capital of the Balkans’ - a region of Bulgaria known for its healing thermal waters - Kristina Velkova later moved to New York City to earn her degree in Product Development from FIT and begin her career as a professional model. Kristina’s career in fashion took her to London, where she met her future co-founder Sara Douglas working at a global content agency. The duo quickly became best friends and roommates, bonding over their interest in all things beauty and their frustration with their lackluster hair and skin, in spite of doing all the ‘wellnessy’ things. After struggling for years with flaky dandruff, brassy hair, and itchy eczema that wouldn’t budge with the latest creams and cleansers, Vitaclean was born.
