We also talk what it was like growing up with a Russian father who made it to the United States, the man who contacted her father after 30 years to apologize for the part he played in her father possibly NOT making it to the US, a Jewish mother who taught her to take pride in her heritage and the sometimes overlooked similarities between black people and Jewish people.
We also get into the time she bought pet turtles from an animal trafficker and we talk a little Bravo, because that IS Real Life!
