I had never heard of the november holiday called “Thanksgiving” before I moved to the States - the first 2-3 years that I witnessed Thanksgiving in the US, I simply treated it like any other American holiday where all my American friends spent time with their family and I simply took time off work to catch up with either more work or go shopping since my family is overseas. Over the years, I have developed my own rituals around this day. Quite typical of adapting to US culture, I have picked up something new and combined it with what I knew. So today’s episode I will use the November holidays as an opportunity to discuss the concept of acculturation-the process of sharing and learning the cultural traits or social patterns of another groupMore about acculturation at Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acculturation
