We are in a message series looking at the “Full Armor of God” passage from Ephesians 6. Paul instructs us to “…take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.” in verse 16. The Roman shield was crucial armor often covered in wet leather with a wood core to protect and defend the warrior. Together the soldiers could strategically use their shields together to push forward or defend as a group. Paul says this shield is made of faith and can effectively extinguish the flaming arrows of our evil enemy.
