Predictive Programming

Is there some force foretelling future events and programming us to become conditioned to a new normal.  Much like the Truman Show, are 'secret unknowns' using books, music and film to prepare the masses for the future.  We look at predictions of 9/11, The Titanic and the rise of Donald Trump amongst other things.
