On April 20, 1989, 37-year-old Patricia Meehan disappeared after crashing her car on Montana Highway 200 near Circle, Montana. In the days leading up to the incident, Patricia had been behaving unusually—her landlord noted that she seemed hyper and out of character. According to her mother, Patricia had been struggling with depression, but had scheduled an appointment with a psychiatrist for the following morning.
Carol Heitz, the other driver involved in the accident, later reported that Patricia emerged from her vehicle, walked up to her silently, and stared as if looking right through her. Without saying a word, Patricia then turned and walked away into the dark field, vanishing into the night.
