As an individualistic culture, we Americans don’t like to be told what to do or what to think, and we especially don’t want anyone to tell us what to believe or how to live out our faith. Our personal faith isn’t just personal; it’s private. But what if having a private faith isn’t what God intended for us? What if a private faith can actually hurt us in the long run?
