The rankings of active startup investors have shifted significantly in the second quarter of 2024, with firms like Khosla Ventures, Coatue, and Accel experiencing notable increases in activity. Khosla Ventures took the top spot by participating in 26 deals, followed by Sequoia Capital and Lightspeed Venture Partners. Andreessen Horowitz, previously leading in Q1, moved to fourth place but led major funding rounds for multiple companies. Coatue led CoreWeave’s $1.1 billion Series C round, and Accel led Scale AI’s $1 billion Series F round. The surge in investor activity can be largely attributed to the increasing investment in artificial intelligence, which saw a record share of global funding in Q2.
