Salesforce Ventures Unveils Massive New AI Investment Strategy

Salesforce Ventures increased its AI investments to $1 billion by launching a new $500 million fund. This new fund builds on an earlier $250 million generative AI fund introduced in March 2023. Notable initial investments include Anthropic, Cohere, Hearth.AI, and you.com. In August 2024, AI startups attracted $4.3 billion, representing around 24% of all venture funding. Salesforce Ventures invested in companies like Ensemble AI and Protect AI, participating in ten AI-related deals overall. Similarly, Insight Partners is nearing a new fund exceeding $10 billion, with a potential total of $12 billion. Recent exits for Insight Partners include Mastercard's acquisition of Recorded Future for $2.65 billion and the sale of Own to Salesforce for $1.9 billion.
