EPISODE 134: How is your heart with the sandwich generation?

Today we continue the pathway into understanding our hearts. Family of all kinds is an integral component of deepening our experiences, understanding, and knowledge of our own hearts. When we take the time to look deep into our closest relationships we can unravel what is most important within us.

We examine the struggle and joy of parenting, caring for aging parents, and remembering to care for ourselves. As people live longer, the experience of being on both ends of the caregiving spectrum can disrupt our own hearts and spirits. While it is exhausting it is also tremendously rewarding.

1. Holding space for yourself is essential.  It is not something we are encouraged to do. Figuring out how you can hold space for yourself, be okay for holding space for yourself, set some boundaries.
2. Make a list of where you need to set some boundaries.  Pick one boundary and practice and see how you feel.
