EPISODE THREE: HOW WE MAKE CHANGE HAPPEN

In this episode Caroline and Jen speak to Cherilyn Mackrory MP and Professor Sarah Stock about the work Sands does to improve bereavement care and save babies’ lives. They touch on how parents can use their voices to improve practice and support research, and the difference we can all make in campaigning for change.

Professor Sarah Stock is a consultant obstetrician, researcher and Sands Trustee. She discusses factors that might affect stillbirth and pre-term birth, the importance of funding research into stillbirth and in including parents in research.

Cherilyn Mackrory MP is co-chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Baby Loss and mum to baby Lily. She shares how much the Baby Loss Awareness debates have on her colleagues in Government and how collectively, we can all make a difference to raise awareness of pregnancy loss and baby loss, and influence for long-lasting change.

13 babies die in the UK every day and 1 in 4 pregnancies end in loss. Every day, Sands works to improve the care and support that bereaved parents receive – and help create a world where fewer babies die.
