Fresh off the release of her debut album ‘Moody Umbra,’ South Side Chicago singer and songwriter Shawnee Dez stopped by the Vocalo studios to sit down with morning host Bekoe and WBEZ’s Taylor Nazon to share her inspiration for the album, and the meaning behind its title. She also discussed several songs from the album, her music career, her May 18 performance at Lincoln Hall and her entrepreneurial spirit.
This conversation originally aired on Vocalo Radio 91.1 FM during Mornings With Bekoe on May 16. It was edited by Bekoe. Keep up with Shawnee Dez on Instagram @shawnee_dez.
