Pocket Con is taking over the MCA this Saturday, Dec. 9, to celebrate comic creators and characters of color. Pocket Con is a free, single-day comic book convention, featuring live music from local artists, a cosplay contest, artist workshops, gaming tournaments, a youth art competition and more. Pocket Con co-founder Elgin Bokari and artist and musician D-Nick of The Microphone Misfitz stopped by the Vocalo studio to discuss Pocket Con’s origins and what attendees can expect from this weekend’s event.
This interview originally aired on Vocalo Radio 91.1 FM during Nudia In the Afternoons on Tuesday, Dec. 5. It was edited and produced by Nudia Hernandez. Find more information on Pocket Con by following them on Instagram @pocketconchi.
