Los Angeles-based singer Madison McFerrin debuted her first full-length album, ‘I Hope You Can Forgive Me’ on May 12, exploring fear and growth while evolving into her identity. Going on a world tour last year with her father, jazz icon Bobby McFerrin, was only the beginning of her touring journey; currently, she is on the road in support of the new album, and will be in Chicago on June 13. In an interview with Vocalo afternoons host Nudia Hernandez, she discusses her single “God Herself,” and what that song means for both her and her audience. The two also delve into how Madison’s family name has an influence on her personal brand, and how she finds herself through music.
This interview was conducted and edited by Nudia Hernandez for Nudia in the Afternoons. It originally aired on Thursday, June 8 during Nudia in the Afternoons on Vocalo 91.1 FM. Keep up with Madison by following her on Instagram at @madmcferrin.
