Inspired by his own life’s story, ‘The Inspection’ is Elegance Bratton’s debut feature film — a story of a young, gay Black man who, after facing rejection from his mother and with few options for his future, joins the Marines. It’s a story of triumph over even the most oppressive adversity and prejudice. Elegance virtually sat down with Vocalo’s Ayana Contreras to discuss the film, its reception and his story which inspired it.
This interview was produced by Ayana Contreras for Vocalo. ‘The Inspection’ is set for theatrical release Tuesday, Nov. 22. For more information, visit A24films.com.
