The first major motion picture outing of the Final Fantasy franchise is one of the most infamous flops in history, effectively killing Square and forcing them to merge to survive. With its sci-fi setting and alien ghosts, the film doesn't feel too much like the games on which it is based. Despite that, how does the film stand up?
