Alexs Thompson is a scholar of Islam who spent over a decade living and working in the Middle East with self-described fundamentalists in places like Syria, Yemen, Iraq, and Afghanistan. He received a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago where he wrote his dissertation on medieval Islamic history. Alexs has been published in leading military journals and spoken at international conferences on the role of religion in foreign policy. Currently, Alexs lives and works in Kansas City.
