Women's MMA | Poetry | Muslim women in prison

On this edition of the Urban Kube sister Shemiza is joined by Hasina Rehman, a black belt in kickboxing, karate, Muay Thai and a registered Self Defence & MMA Coach. She’s also the founder of a female only Martial arts club.

We also have Haneefah Muhammad in the studio, a spoken word poet and empowerment coach whose poetry explores spirituality, wellbeing and social justice. Her recently published book ‘My Soul Purpose’ is a collection of poems about living, loving and learning.

Plus we’re joined by Sofia Buncy, the founder and national co-ordinator of the Muslim Women in Prison Rehabilitation project. Sofia will be discussing her new report #SistersInDesistance & what a culturally informed & grassroots driven rehabilitation model looks like for Muslim women prisoners returning back to communities.
