A Place at the Table with Dennis Stanley

UNO Souls Chat: I am honored today to be speaking with Dennis Stanley – an UNO Soul. He owns Chantel’s Bakery.

He does amazing work in the community – always. Listen to how he quickly pivoted his business during these challenging times. He is a champion of social media and the pictures of his desserts are mouthwatering… Mother’s Day Weekend – in the middle of the pandemic— they sold out. This had not happened in 30 years of him being in business! His motto: Always listen to the customer; pay attention to what they are saying. What makes him happy is to put a smile on someone’s face.

Dennis prepares cakes for people with food allergies: everything from no dairy, no soy, no flour, no egg, no nuts, no sugar – to name a few. He wants all children (and adults) to be able to enjoy cake at a birthday party. Listen to his stories about how he gives joy to children and adults when they get to enjoy his cakes. Hear his story about his foundation called Sprinkle of Thanks. It’s based on giving thanks to people that are doing good things in the community.

Words of Wisdom: "Self-reflection; just learn who you are because a lot of people don't know who they are, because society has told them who they are, and what they should like and not like. But just do some reflection, and learn what you like and don't like. And then just enjoy the moment. The most important thing I got out of this pandemic time is: enjoy the moment."
