Emotions have enormous potential to shape our lives. We all experience lots of emotions every day, and the negative emotions are the ones we most often struggle to process in healthy ways. Even as small children we learn and employ a wide variety of coping strategies to help us manage our emotions. Negative emotions are like an indicator light, signaling something needs our attention. If we learn & keep practicing unhealthy coping strategies the pain we experience and possibly transformation to others grows.
An essential part of maturing is learning and applying effective strategies to moderate and manage our emotions. The means by which we regulate our emotions is critical in shaping how we live and engage with others.
