Episode 1 of the UCEM in conversation with… podcast sees UCEM PR and Social Media Manager, Andrew Belt, speak to our MSc Building Surveying alumna, Emma Martinez – the winner of the Academic Excellence Award at the 2019 Property Awards. Emma won the Academic Excellence Award for her Project entitled ‘To what extent is London’s football heritage being lost in the rush to replace and adapt historical stadia that are no longer considered fit for purpose?’ in which she reviewed contrasting approaches by Fulham FC and West Ham United. In this episode, Emma talks in detail about her project and her thoughts on football clubs’ history and value, touching upon the dichotomy between clubs as businesses and as community assets.
