The Gospel of John: A Soldier's Goodbye

How many of us love goodbyes? One of many great memories I have from my younger years were the times my family got to visit my grandparents. While many families would travel to the beaches or mountains for vacation in the summer, we would travel to Pennsylvania to to be with my grandparents. After a week or so with them, that one morning was coming fast. The goodbye morning. It’s a conflicting moment! You are ready to be home, but also, you don’t want to leave Gram and Pap. As a kid, you wonder why you just can’t stay…but the older I got, and with each goodbye, created a greater longing for those return visits. In John 14, Jesus shares this moment with his disciples. He is saying his goodbyes and why He must go. He shares this with them before it happens so that when it actually happens, that they might believe. A goodbye is a great cause for a wonderful “welcome home” reunion! Today, Senior pastor, Heath Bauer takes us through, “A Soldier’s Goodbye.”
