In 1984, President Ronald Reagan designated the third Sunday in July as National Ice Cream Day. It’s a special day here in Massachusetts, where we double-dip every day of the year, even in freezing temperatures. And it was here in Greater Boston where ice cream innovators help catapult ice cream from a mass-produced product to a handmade, artisanal specialty.
